(Brazil).- The president of the Chamber's Tourism Commission, Deputy Bacelar (Podemos / BA), met with representatives of the Special Secretariat of the Investment Alliances Program (PPI) of the Ministry of Economy, the body in charge of granting to the private sector the Exclusive Instant Lottery - Lotex and the modality of lottery of fixed rate bets or sports bets, in addition to coordinating the Interministerial Committee to attract private investments to the tourism sector, including integrated resorts.

The hearing was attended by the Special Undersecretary, Bruno Westin Prado Soares Leal; the head of the Special Advisory to Support Investors and New Projects, Rodrigo Toledo Cabral Cota and the Special Advisor, Renata Freire Martins.

On the agenda, the importance of approving the Gaming Regulatory Framework through the legalization of games - and not just resorts integrated with casinos - to unlock investments, support the growth of the Brazilian economy and generate jobs. The congressman was accompanied by the president of the Instituto Brasileiro Jogo Legal - IJL, Magnho José.

According to Bacelar, the creation of the Regulatory Framework for the Games will benefit not only the government, but also Brazilians who will be safer to bet on the physical and virtual market. Regarding the national economy, the collection could be R $ 20 billion in annual taxes. “In addition, it would have the formalization of 450 thousand jobs in the deregulated market, generating more than 200 thousand direct jobs and 600 thousand indirect ones. Legalization would also generate investments in the Brazilian market, due to the enormous potential of this activity that currently operates outside the law,” he added.

According to the president of the IJL, Magnho José, the legalization of all the modalities currently operated, such as the game of animals, bingo, video slots and online games, the country has the potential to move around R $ 74 billion annually. "And this calculation does not include casinos, since the amounts collected from these establishments depend a lot on the model and amount that will be defined by the National Congress," he said.

The proposal that creates the Normative Framework for the Games (PL 442/91) is now ready to be analyzed by the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, and even with its high relevance for the country, it still faces difficulties in its conclusion.

In Bacelar's assessment, it is important to present the benefits of gambling regulation in Brazil to the government, civil society, and conservative banks. “In October, the ban on games will turn 80 years old. Some say it was for political reasons, others religious, but the truth is that legal gambling only benefits the country and society. The game exists and denying it is hypocrisy,” he said.
